TRANSIT VISA
REQUIREMENT
This type of visa is issued to applicants who wish to enter Thailand for the following purposes:
1. To travel in transit through Thailand in order to proceed to the country
of destination or to re-enter his/her own country within 30 days (category "TS")
2. To participate in sports activities (category "S")
3. The person in charge or crew of a conveyance coming to a port, station or area
in Thailand (category "C")
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
1. A Completed and signed Visa Application Form
2. 2 passport-sized photos taken within 6 months
3. An original and a copy of passport or travel document which is valid for no less than 6 months, including bio data page, immigration stamp to Lao PDR page, and Lao visa page (for applicant with no residence in Lao PDR)
4. A confirmed air ticket to Thailand and to another country paid in full
5. Evidence of adequate finance (10,000 baht per person and 20,000 baht per family)
6. Letter of invitation stating the application's participation in sports activities in the Kingdom (compulsory for category “S”)
7. Consular officer reserves the right to require additional documents, or an interview with the applicant, as deemed necessary, without prior notice.

TOURIST VISA
TYPES OF TOURIST VISA AND VALIDITY:
1. Single-Entry Tourist Visa is valid for entering Thailand once within 3 months
from the date of application. The period of stay is 60 days maximum.
2. Multiple-Entry Tourist Visa is valid for entering Thailand within 6 months
from the date of application. The period of stay is 60 days maximum per stay.
The Multiple-Entry Tourist Visa holder may enter Thailand again as long as the visa
is still valid. Multiple-Entry Tourist Visa will only be granted to Lao nationals or those with proof of permanent residence in Laos.
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:
1. A completed and signed Visa Application Form
2. 2 passport-sized photos taken within 6 months
3. An original and a copy of passport or travel document which is valid for no less than 6 months, including bio data page, immigration stamp to Lao PDR page, and Lao visa page (for applicant with no residence in Lao PDR)

• Multiple-Entry Tourist Visa: 200,000 baht per person (6 months of financial

6. Proof of permanent residence in Lao PDR (For Multiple-Entry Tourist Visa applicants)

NON-IMMIGRANT “ED” VISA
Non-Immigrant “ED” Visa is issued to applicants who wish to pursue their
full-time education in private and public educational institutions in Thailand; internship and training in governmental organizations and international organizations; internship and training as part of an academic curriculum; or any other educational programmes in Thailand. A Single-Entry Visa Non-Immigrant “ED” Visa is valid for entering Thailand once within 3 months from the date of application. The initial period of stay is up to 90 days.
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:
1. A completed and signed Visa Application Form
2. 2 passport-sized photos taken within 6 months
3. An original and a copy of passport or travel document which is valid for no less than 6 months, including bio data page, immigration stamp to Lao PDR page, and Lao visa page (for applicant with no residence in Lao PDR)
4. A letter of approval from a relevant government agency such as the Office of the Private Education Commission or the Office of the Basic Education Commission (not required for universities and international schools)
5. A letter from the enrolled institution/school signed by the school director or an authorized person and stamped with the institution/school’s seal, requesting the Royal Thai Embassy to issue appropriate visa for the applicant. And a copy of Thai ID of the person signing the letter.
6. An acceptance letter from the concerned school, university or institution in Thailand with details of the programme, or a transcript for existing student
7. Evidence of tuition fee payment and funding e.g. bank statement
8. Copy of school or institution registration documents (for private school)
9. A police certificate or a criminal record clearance issued by authorities of the applicant’s country of nationality or residence, within three months prior to the date of visa application and notarized by an authorized body or a diplomatic or consular mission (for public and private university)
10. A letter from the applicant’s university/academic institution confirming the requirement and requesting the Royal Thai Embassy to issue appropriate visa for the applicant, and a (for training or internship which is part of an academic curriculum)
11. Dependents
Dependents (parents, spouse, children under 20 years old) of a student enrolled in a full-time educational programme in Thailand are eligible to apply for Single-Entry Non-Immigrant “O” visa. Additional required documents are evidence of familial relations and proof of additional funding.

NON-IMMIGRANT “B” VISA
(Conducting business, conference and employment)
Non - Immigrant Visa "B" is issued to applicants who wish to enter Thailand for the purpose of conducting business, conference or employment.
TYPES OF NON-IMMIGRANT “B” VISA AND VALIDITY
1. Single-Entry: valid for entering Thailand once within 3 months from the date of application. The period of stay is up to 90 days.
2. Multiple-Entry (only available for conducting business): valid for entering Thailand multiple times within 1 year from the date of application. The period of stay is up to 90 days for each visit.
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
1. A completed and signed Visa Application Form
2. 2 passport-sized photos taken within 6 months
3. An original and a copy of passport or travel document which is valid for no less than 6 months, including bio data page, immigration stamp to Lao PDR page, and Lao visa page (for applicant with no residence in Lao PDR)
4.Business-related documents
4.1 Employment in Thailand
• A letter from the employer in Thailand, requesting the Royal Thai Embassy to issue appropriate visa for the applicant, indicating details of employment, including position, salary and length of contract. And a copy of Thai ID of the person signing the letter.
• A work permit or an approval letter from the Department of Employment regarding the “WP3” form submitted on behalf of the applicant by the employer (Japanese nationals are exempted in accordance with JTEPA), OR
• Copy of corporate documents e.g. 1) List of shareholders 2) Business registration and business license 3) Details of business operations 4) List of foreign employees, nationalities and positions 5) Address of the company 6) Balance sheet, statement of Income Tax and Business Tax (Por Ngor Dor 50 and Por Ngor Dor 30) of the latest year 7) Alien income tax return (Por Ngor Dor 91) and 8) Value-added tax registration (Por Por 20). These documents must be signed by an authorized person and stamped with a company’s seal. A copy of Thai ID of the authorized person must also be submitted.
• Evidence of the applicant’s professional qualifications and work experience
• A work permit of the applicant’s previous employment or its certified copy (compulsory for an applicant who had worked in Thailand)
4.2 Teaching in Thailand
• A letter from the institution/school signed by an authorized person and stamped with the institution/school’s seal, requesting the Royal Thai Embassy to issue appropriate visa for the applicant. And a copy of Thai ID of the person signing the letter.
• A letter of approval from the relevant government agency, e.g. the Office of the Private Education Commission or the Office of the Basic Education Commission
• A letter of acceptance from the institution/school or a signed employment contract
• A police certificate or a criminal record clearance issued by authorities of the applicant’s country of nationality or residence (issued within three months prior to the date of visa application and should be notarized by an authorized body or a diplomatic or consular mission)
• Evidence of professional qualifications and work experience
• A copy of institution/school license or registration (private school/institution)
• A copy of institution/school appointment of its director (private school/institution)
4.3 Professional sport player
• Approval by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand is required prior to submitting a visa application.
• Evidence of previous overseas employment in English and certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the applicant’s country of residence or relevant authorities
• A police certificate or a criminal record clearance issued by authorities of the applicant’s country of nationality or residence (issued within three months prior to the date of visa application and should be notarized by an authorized body or a diplomatic or consular mission)
4.4 Training or internship
• A letter from the sponsoring company/organization in Thailand, requesting the Royal Thai Embassy to issue appropriate visa for the applicant, indicating details of training or internship, including duration, scope of training/internship and payment (if any). And a copy of Thai ID of the person signing the letter.
• Copy of corporate documents (See above)
• If the training or internship is part of an academic curriculum, a letter from the applicant’s university/academic institution confirming the requirement and requesting the Royal Thai Embassy to issue appropriate visa for the applicant. In this case, the applicant will be issued with Non-Immigrant “ED” visa.
4.5 Conducting business or attending a conference
4.5.1 Documents from host company/organization in Thailand
• An invitation letter, stating the applicant’s purpose of visit and duration of stay in Thailand. And a copy of Thai ID of the person signing the letter.
• Company/organization’s registration documents
4.5.2 Documents from current employer in Laos PDR
• A letter from the current employer, confirming the applicant’s current position, salary, purpose of visit, and duration of stay in Thailand. And a copy of ID of the person signing the letter.
• Company/organization’s registration documents
• In case of a business owner, financial statements and evidence of business ownership

1. Family member of a Thai national
2. Dependent of a visa holder working or studying in Thailand
3. Volunteer for an NGO or a charitable organization
4. Retirement
A Single-Entry Visa Non-Immigrant “O” Visa is valid for entering Thailand once within 3 months from the date of application. The initial period of stay is up to 90 days.
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
1. A completed and signed Visa Application Form
2. 2 passport-sized photos taken within 6 months
3. An original and a copy of passport or travel document which is valid for no less than 6 months, including bio data page, immigration stamp to Lao PDR page, and Lao visa page (for applicant with no residence in Lao PDR)
4. Additional requirements for specific purposes
4.1 Family member of a Thai national
• Documents of Thai national: a marriage certificate or a birth certificate, a passport, a Thai ID Card, and a house registration (or their certified copies)
4.2 Dependent of a visa holder working or studying in Thailand
• A letter from the employer or school in Thailand, requesting the Royal Thai Embassy to issue appropriate visa for the applicant, confirming the relationship between the applicant and the visa holder. And a copy of Thai ID of the person signing the letter.
• Documents of the visa holder in Thailand: a copy of passport pages including Thai visa, a copy of Thai work permit or student ID card
• Documents confirming the relationship between the applicant and the visa holder in Thailand e.g. a marriage certificate or a birth certificate (or their certified copies).
• Copy of the company’s or school’s registration documents
• Evidence of funding e.g. bank statement
4.3 Volunteer for an NGO or a charitable organization
• A letter from the organization in Thailand, requesting the Royal Thai Embassy to issue appropriate visa for the applicant with details of the applicant’s roles and responsibilities. And a copy of Thai ID of the person signing the letter.
• Copy of the organization’s registration documents
• If the applicant was previously issued a Volunteer Non-Immigrant O visa, he/she must also present a certification letter for a foreign volunteer issued by a relevant government agency or a work permit.
4.4 Retirement
• At least 50 years old
• A letter from a Thai bank certifying that the applicant holds a bank account with a fund of at least 800,000 baht; or a letter issued or certified by an Embassy/Consulate that the applicant has a monthly income of at least 65,000 baht
(or equivalent in other currency)

NON-IMMIGRANT “ED” VISA
Non-Immigrant “ED” Visa is issued to applicants who wish to pursue their
full-time education in private and public educational institutions in Thailand; internship and training in governmental organizations and international organizations; internship and training as part of an academic curriculum; or any other educational programmes in Thailand. A Single-Entry Visa Non-Immigrant “ED” Visa is valid for entering Thailand once within 3 months from the date of application. The initial period of stay is up to 90 days.
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
1. A completed and signed Visa Application Form
2. 2 passport-sized photos taken within 6 months
3. An original and a copy of passport or travel document which is valid for no less than 6 months, including bio data page, immigration stamp to Lao PDR page, and Lao visa page (for applicant with no residence in Lao PDR)
4. A letter of approval from a relevant government agency such as the Office of the Private Education Commission or the Office of the Basic Education Commission (not required for universities and international schools)
5. A letter from the enrolled institution/school signed by the school director or an authorized person and stamped with the institution/school’s seal, requesting the Royal Thai Embassy to issue appropriate visa for the applicant. And a copy of Thai ID of the person signing the letter.
6. An acceptance letter from the concerned school, university or institution in Thailand with details of the programme, or a transcript for existing student
7. Evidence of tuition fee payment and funding e.g. bank statement
8. Copy of school or institution registration documents (for private school)
9. A police certificate or a criminal record clearance issued by authorities of the applicant’s country of nationality or residence, within three months prior to the date of visa application and notarized by an authorized body or a diplomatic or consular mission (for public and private university)
10. A letter from the applicant’s university/academic institution confirming the requirement and requesting the Royal Thai Embassy to issue appropriate visa for the applicant, and a (for training or internship which is part of an academic curriculum)
11. Dependents
Dependents (parents, spouse, children under 20 years old) of a student enrolled in a full-time educational programme in Thailand are eligible to apply for Single-Entry Non-Immigrant “O” visa. Additional required documents are evidence of familial relations and proof of additional funding.

NON-IMMIGRANT “B” VISA (
(Conducting business, conference and employment)
Non - Immigrant Visa "B" is issued to applicants who wish to enter Thailand for the purpose of conducting business, conference or employment.
TYPES OF NON-IMMIGRANT “B” VISA AND VALIDITY
1. Single-Entry: valid for entering Thailand once within 3 months from the date of application. The period of stay is up to 90 days.
2. Multiple-Entry (only available for conducting business): valid for entering Thailand multiple times within 1 year from the date of application. The period of stay is up to 90 days for each visit.
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
1. A completed and signed Visa Application Form
2. 2 passport-sized photos taken within 6 months
3. An original and a copy of passport or travel document which is valid for no less than 6 months, including bio data page, immigration stamp to Lao PDR page, and Lao visa page (for applicant with no residence in Lao PDR)
4. Business-related documents
4.1 Employment in Thailand
• A letter from the employer in Thailand, requesting the Royal Thai Embassy to issue appropriate visa for the applicant, indicating details of employment, including position, salary and length of contract. And a copy of Thai ID of the person signing the letter.
• A work permit or an approval letter from the Department of Employment regarding the “WP3” form submitted on behalf of the applicant by the employer (Japanese nationals are exempted in accordance with JTEPA), OR
• Copy of corporate documents e.g. 1) List of shareholders 2) Business registration and business license 3) Details of business operations 4) List of foreign employees, nationalities and positions 5) Address of the company 6) Balance sheet, statement of Income Tax and Business Tax (Por Ngor Dor 50 and Por Ngor Dor 30) of the latest year 7) Alien income tax return (Por Ngor Dor 91) and 8) Value-added tax registration (Por Por 20). These documents must be signed by an authorized person and stamped with a company’s seal. A copy of Thai ID of the authorized person must also be submitted.
• Evidence of the applicant’s professional qualifications and work experience
• A work permit of the applicant’s previous employment or its certified copy (compulsory for an applicant who had worked in Thailand)
4.2 Teaching in Thailand<\b>
• A letter from the institution/school signed by an authorized person and stamped with the institution/school’s seal, requesting the Royal Thai Embassy to issue appropriate visa for the applicant. And a copy of Thai ID of the person signing the letter.
• A letter of approval from the relevant government agency, e.g. the Office of the Private Education Commission or the Office of the Basic Education Commission
• A letter of acceptance from the institution/school or a signed employment contract
• A police certificate or a criminal record clearance issued by authorities of the applicant’s country of nationality or residence (issued within three months prior to the date of visa application and should be notarized by an authorized body or a diplomatic or consular mission)
• Evidence of professional qualifications and work experience
• A copy of institution/school license or registration (private school/institution)
• A copy of institution/school appointment of its director (private school/institution)
4.3 Professional sport player
• Approval by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand is required prior to submitting a visa application.
• Evidence of previous overseas employment in English and certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the applicant’s country of residence or relevant authorities
• A police certificate or a criminal record clearance issued by authorities of the applicant’s country of nationality or residence (issued within three months prior to the date of visa application and should be notarized by an authorized body or a diplomatic or consular mission)
4.4 Training or internship
• A letter from the sponsoring company/organization in Thailand, requesting the Royal Thai Embassy to issue appropriate visa for the applicant, indicating details of training or internship, including duration, scope of training/internship and payment (if any). And a copy of Thai ID of the person signing the letter.
• Copy of corporate documents (See above)
• If the training or internship is part of an academic curriculum, a letter from the applicant’s university/academic institution confirming the requirement and requesting the Royal Thai Embassy to issue appropriate visa for the applicant. In this case, the applicant will be issued with Non-Immigrant “ED” visa.
4.5 Conducting business or attending a conference
4.5.1 Documents from host company/organization in Thailand
• An invitation letter, stating the applicant’s purpose of visit and duration of stay in Thailand. And a copy of Thai ID of the person signing the letter.
• Company/organization’s registration documents
4.5.2 Documents from current employer in Laos PDR
• A letter from the current employer, confirming the applicant’s current position, salary, purpose of visit, and duration of stay in Thailand. And a copy of ID of the person signing the letter.
• Company/organization’s registration documents
• In case of a business owner, financial statements and evidence of business ownership

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

3. A passport or travel documents (valid for no less than 6 months)
4. Additional requirements for specific purposes
4.1 To stay with the Thai family
• An original marriage certificate (for spouse) or birth certificate (for parents), a passport, and an Identity Card of the Thai spouse (copies of documents must be signed by the Thai spouse)
• An original letter from the applicant’s Thai spouse
• A bank statement (for Multiple-Entry visa, an applicant should show
at least 6 months of bank statement with at least 100,000 baht or that equivalent in other currencies)
4.2 To accompany spouse or family members working, studying or living in Thailand
• An original guarantee letter from a company or school addressed to
the Royal Thai Embassy, Vientiane, stating that an applicant is a spouse or
a family member of those working or studying in Thailand
• A copy of passport pages of those working or studying in Thailand which should include a personal data page and the Thai visa page
• A copy of the Thai work permit or student identity card.
• A copy of the marriage certificate (for spouse)
• A copy of the birth certificate (for parents)
• A company's recent business certificate and necessary supporting documents to proof that the company is in active status
• In case of spouse is working with a company under the BOI promotion,
an original letter from BOI requesting for visa issuance is required.
• A Bank Statement of an applicant or evidences showing adequate finance
4.3 To participate in voluntary services in Thailand
• A recommendation letter from an employer, a foundation, or
an organization addressed to the Royal Thai Embassy, Vientiane
• A copy of Registration Certificate of an employer, a foundation, or
an organization
• A copy of previous/current work permit (if applicable)
• A copy of employment contract (if applicable)
4.4 To have a long stay retirement “O-A” (up to one year)
Eligibility
• An applicant must be aged 50 years old and over (on the application submission date)
• An applicant is not prohibited from entering the Kingdom as provided
by the Immigration Act B.E. 2522 (1979)
• No criminal record in Thailand and the country of applicant’s nationality
or residence
• An applicant is the Lao national or has a permanent residence in Laos
• An application has no prohibitive diseases (Leprosy, Tuberculosis,
drug addiction, Elephantiasis, third phase of Syphilis) as indicated
in the Ministerial Regulation No. 14 B.E. 2535.
Required Documents
• A Passport or travel documents (valid for no less than 18 months)
• 3 copies of completed and signed Visa Application Forms
• 3 passport-sized photos taken within 6 months
• 3 copies of Curriculum Vitae
• 3 copies of Bank Statement showing a deposit of not less than 800,000 Baht or an original of Income Certificate with a monthly income of not less than 65,000 Baht, or a bank account together with a monthly income of not less than 800,000 Baht
• 3 copies of a letter of guarantee from the bank (if submitting a bank statement)
• 3 copies of a letter of criminal record clearance issued from the country
of applicant’s nationality or residence (valid for not more than
three months and should be notarized by notary organs or a diplomatic
or consular mission)
• 3 copies of a medical certificate issued from the medical institutes where the application is submitted, showing no prohibitive diseases (leprosy, tuberculosis, drug addiction, elephantiasis and third step of syphilis)
as indicated in the Ministerial Regulation No.14 (B.E. 2535) (valid for not more than three months and should be notarized by notary organs or
a diplomatic or consular mission)
• In case of an accompanied spouse is not eligible to apply for the “O-A” (Long Stay) visa, the spouse will be considered for a temporary stay under “Non-O” visa. A marriage certificate must be provided as an evidence and should be notarized by notary organs or a diplomatic or consular mission.
5. Other documents: as may be requested by consular officers in addition to
the documents above.
* All letters must have the letter head of their respective agency/school/institution/company and be signed by authorized persons.
** All copies of the agency/school/institution/company’s documents must be signed by authorized persons and have respective seals/stamps.

PERIOD OF STAY
The holders of “Non-O” visa are initially granted a period of stay in the Kingdom not exceeding 3 Months and for “O-A” visa is not exceeding 1 Year unless otherwise instructed by the Office of Immigration Bureau

EXTENSION OF STAY
Those who wish to stay longer or may wish to change their types of visa must file an application for permission at the Office of Immigration Bureau located on Government Complex Building B, Chaengwattana Road, Laksi, Bangkok 10210, www.immigration.go.th.
Extension of stay as well as change of certain type of visa is solely at the discretion of Immigration officers.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Nationals of certain countries are required to apply for a visa only at the Royal Thai Embassy or Royal Thai Consulate-General in their home/residence country or at the designated
Royal Thai Embassy. Therefore, travelers are advised to contact the nearest Royal Thai Embassy
or Royal Thai Consulate-General to find out where they may apply for a visa to Thailand before departure.
